what is us & eternal is an interdisciplinary dance work-in-progress by Rachel Helten and Ezequiel Peralta exploring the boundless, fluid, and multi-dimensional nature of love—el amor—as a force that transcends time and space. Drawing from movement, text, visions, and spirit, this piece reflects on love as a place of metamorphosis, memory, and eternal return.
El río no pide permiso para correr… The river does not ask permission to run—it simply flows, receiving all waters that reach it. Love, too, does not grasp; it gives without demand, it moves like una sustancia líquida amniótica cósmica, embracing all in its path. An oceanic womb. An enduring sea of love.
When flesh fades, love does not die. It becomes light, ether, presence in the unseen. It sings in memory, blooms in the earth, pulses through blood. Amar es ser amado. To love is to be loved.
In a world of impermanence, love is the thread that binds, the substance of all that is. In every realm it is the melody that transforms and creates. This is a dance for all that is felt, lost, remembered, and eternal.
Rachel and Ezequiel are honoured beyond measure to be a part of the Unity Consciousness – Art Festival presented by Chimerik and to celebrate the expansive, enduring, and beautiful love between Sammy and Caroline, our beloved friends and collaborators. They are profound sources of inspiration in our lives and in the world.
