At times we feel only escape will silence our fears and the shadows of our past. But this suppression can manifest into hysteria. Only when we become acquainted with the echoes of our memories can we find solace again and quiet the war in our minds.
This process began with an exploration of dynamics that are opposite to my habitual movement qualities. I delved into notions of suppression and how stifling emotions can manifest into hysteria. I danced to eerie sounds by Erik Satie and Poetry by Jim Morrison. Worked with dramaturge (Ker Wells) to amplify dramatic presence. I imbued my own spoken word into the piece by responding to the poetry of Jim Morrison.
